Wind Turbine and Energy information
From time to time the Wind Turbine is down for scheduled maintenance and usually that maintenance will take a day or two. Currently, the Wind Turbine is down as a result of some routine maintenance and the lack of some parts needed to complete the maintenance. We have confirmation that the parts will be delivered on Monday August 20th and the maintenance crew will be on site the 21st of August to replace the parts. Most major maintenance work is planned during the summer months because the district stands to lose less in electricity production because the winds in the summer months are not conducive to high electrical production. The best months for electricity production begin in October and usually end the last part of May. Below is a graph of KwH usage by month since 2007 as you can see we have reduced our usage substantially. In general we have reduced our overall usage at the High school by 2 million Kwh’s per year.
