Mr. Stier has been on staff at PORTA since August, 2000, and currently teaches to following courses at the high school:
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Earth-Space Science
- Physical Science
Mr. Stier also serves on the School Improvement Committee and the Data Analysis Team for PORTA. Both of these duties involve the ongoing analysis of the curriculum at PORTA Jr-Sr High School and its alignment to the Illinois Learning Standards.
A graduate of PORTA High School himself, Mr. Stier received his Bachelor of Science in Physics from Eastern Illinois University in 1989 and his Master of Science in the Physical Sciences from Eastern Illinois University in 1997. He is married with two children.
Mr. Stier is also a Recognized IHSA Track & Field Official. In the spring, he can be found throughout Central Illinois working at Jr High and High School track meets, including the State Track Meet in Charleston, IL. During the fall, Mr. Stier can be found working IHSA cross country meets, including both the Jr High and High School State Series meets.
