Fall Sport Guidelines

With the start of the 2020 Fall sports seasons, our goal at Petersburg PORTA A/C is to provide a safe playing field for all student-athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators. To maintain that high level of safety, PORTA A/C will institute the following IDPH, IHSA, IESA and district requirements:

  • Players, coaches, and spectators should maintain social distance by being 6 feet apart.
  • Diligent and effective cleaning and disinfecting of frequently touched objects and surfaces following the guidance of the IDPH.
  • Coaches must maintain a daily health screening on each student. These screenings will include a temperature check, athletes participating, date and time, and symptoms they may present.
  • If a student-athlete, coach, official, or spectator has any of the COVID-19 symptoms, is currently suffering from COVID-19, or recently been in contact with someone that has tested positive for COVID-19 they should not come to the game.
  • No sharing of equipment between student-athletes if possible. Equipment will be sanitized after each use.
  • Students must have their own water bottles that are clearly marked with their name on it. No sharing of drinks, use of water fountains or use of water hoses will be allowed.
  • In accordance to IDPH guidelines, spectators are limited to immediate family within the household.
  • In accordance to IDPH guidelines, masks should be worn by all non-participants.
  • In accordance to IDPH guidelines, spectator groups will be no larger than 50- groups of 50 must stay 30 feet apart from each other.
  • PORTA will observe the guidelines set forth by the IHSA/IESA member schools that we compete against.
