Student council members - there will be a meeting in "advisory" for all student council members depending on the day you are at school. We will meet in the auditorium on Tuesday for A kids and Thursday for B kids. If you can't make the meeting, please talk to Ms. Hart or Parker Beck before your scheduled day.
On Thursday September 24th, Eastern Illinois University Rep Alex Martens will be hosting a virtual visit for PORTA students at 3:00 pm. Please email Mrs. Taylor if you are interested so I can send you the zoom link for the visit.
Want to make a difference in your school and community? Join PORTA's Community Problem Solvers at their first meeting this Thursday, September 24th, during advisory. Sophomores: Jostens will be here for a meeting with you for your class rings on Monday, September 28th and October 1st during advisories in the Auditorium. Please make arrangements to stay until 3:15 those days. Jostens will return on October 6th and October 8th before school from 7:30 - 8 am to collect your orders. They will either be outside the main entrance or outside the guidance office doors.
Key Club Members! Sign-up for Key Club will begin on Monday, 9-28-20. Dues will remain $15. More info to follow…
SIX Key Club Members are needed to work as swim meet timers on Monday, 9-28 and again on Thursday 10-1 from 3:45-5:30. Sign-up Sheets are posted outside Room 110. If you are an A Group student and would like to work either of these dates, please email Mrs. Perez and she will sign you up. Due to COVID star opportunities have been greatly reduced, so sign up early!
The First FFA Meeting will be in the Ag Room on October 5th in Advisory. Snacks will be provided.
Are you interested in traveling to Washington DC in June 2021 and having a blast with your friends from PORTA & A-C Central? Sign up before Oct. 1st and get a discount! This Thursday night at 6pm there will be a virtual Google Meet for students and parents to find out all about the trip and get signed up. Juniors, you will have the opportunity to take the PSAT on Wednesday October 14, 2020 at school. If you are interested in taking the PSAT contact Mrs. Taylor. The exam costs $15.00. It is a great way to help prepare you for the SAT in April and to be eligible for scholarships.
Seniors, if you are planning on graduating early, please pick up the form in the Guidance office or email Mrs. Taylor so she can email it to you. The deadline to apply for early graduation is the end of October.
