PORTA CUSD 202 Board of Education - Seeking New Board Member
The PORTA Community Unit School District 202 Board of Education is seeking to fill a vacancy on the Board. We are looking for a dedicated individual who is passionate about public education and committed to serving our students, staff, and community.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a resident of the PORTA CUSD 202 district.
- Must reside outside of Petersburg Township (T18N R7)
- per district guidelines, no more than three board members may reside in the same township.
- Must be a registered voter.
- Must not be a current employee of the school district.
Ideal candidates will:
- Value education and student achievement.
- Demonstrate a commitment to collaboration and community engagement.
- Be willing to attend regular board meetings, participate in committees, and engage in professional development activities.
- Uphold the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and confidentiality.
Term Information: The appointed board member will serve until the next regularly scheduled school board election, at which point they may choose to run for the position.
Application Process: Interested individuals should submit a letter sharing why they would like to join the Board, a summary of relevant experience or skills, and a resume or short biography to Mr. Shannon Duling, Superintendent, at sduling@porta202.org, by Friday, May 9th.
Interviews will likely be scheduled starting on Monday, May 12th.
