College Changes Everything Month pic

College Application Day, Friday, October 18th!

Friday October 18, 2019 PORTA High School will be hosting a College Application Day. Seniors will have the opportunity to come to the library and complete college applications with the assistance of area Admissions Counselors from Lincoln Land Community College, Illinois College, MacMurray College, University of Illinois Springfield, and ISAC (Illinois Student Assistance Commission). The event will run from 8:15 am to 3:15 pm. All students need to do is bring documents such as their social security card to be able to fill out the applications. This event is a part of Illinois' College Changes Everything Campaign.

Picture Day at PORTA Jr-Sr High!

School picture day at the Jr-Sr High will be August 27 & 28. Photos of seniors, juniors, and sophomores will be taken Tuesday, August 27th. Photos of freshmen, 8th graders, and 7th graders will be taken Wednesday, August 28th. Picture packets are available in the junior high and high school offices or you may print your own. All students will have their photo taken. Students wishing to order photos should bring the order form and money along with them on picture day. Expect Success

The PORTA Board, Administration and Staff welcomes you to our fine district. PORTA has an outstanding reputation for providing challenging coursework, while balancing multiple extra-curricular offerings that are maintained to meet student interests.  We strive to continually maintain a close working relationship with our families and community as we feel educating our children is a community function.  We welcome you into our schools as visitors, mentors and volunteers so please feel free to offer your time and effort to help our staff educate our students. Your involvement at home and school will only increase student success while in school and beyond.
The Board has developed a continuous work plan that maps a direction for our district to follow please feel free to evaluate our "work plan" and offer your input to any of our members or myself.
